Wellness comes in many different forms. For me one of my favorite forms of wellness that brings me peace aside from cooking is decorating and home projects so I figured I would start a blog series dedicated to home projects that I am working on. First up we have the guest bathroom. Since I moved into my house a few years back I have been wanting to do some minor or what some would call major upgrades lol to the space to really call it my own. Starting with the guest bathroom I hated the builder grade bathroom vanity that took up the entire wall and hung over the toilet. At first I had the idea to epoxy the top however that did not go as planned lol. Considering I am a renter I reached out to my landlord to make changes (of course on my own dime) & she approved! This is when the fun began!
To start I chose a paint color from Home Depot that was in the white collection then proceeded to remove the old vanity along with the toilet (swapped with another bathroom toilet that was larger in size). Next it was on to the floors. I searched high & low for peel & stick flooring because I didn't want to create too big of a project so this would allow me to be able to lay the new flooring on top of the old with no damage. I purchased 1 pack of peel & stick vynl from Lowes which fit the space perfectly and it was less than $60 total! Killer deal! When I decided to do the flooring I also knew I wanted to put in fresh baseboards. I have relatives in the construction business with every tool you can think of so I was able to get a relative to cut my baseboards to size preventing me from purchasing tools specifically for the job. Once that was complete we began to install the new vanity, new vanity light, new bathroom fixtures along with the toilet from the other bathroom. At this point I originally wanted to do a concrete wall but decided against it & went with something that wouldn't cause damage to the original walls later down the line.
I found the perfect peel & stick wall paper (I know more peel & stick but hey its renter friendly) ahahaha. I purchased a roll of peel & stick concrete wall paper from amazon & not going to lie I was NERVOUS but It came out better than I thought! I really wanted this bathroom to feel like your stepping into a luxury bathroom so I chose to do ceiling high curtains which I found this idea from a Tik Tok page & instantly fell in love! I purchased 2 HILJA 98' curtains from IKEA & a 98' liner from amazon & baby I think this was the perfect touch to seal the deal! I added some decor items floating shelves that I already had from Target (recycling items in your home comes in clutch). I added a Tocca diffuser in the scent Capri that I picked up at Sephora & the scent is AMAZING, a candle named Elegantly Tokyo from Zara & of course the poo pourri has to be visible! I am still indecisive on the pictures for the frames but I'm hoping something sparks my interest soon but for now these will do!
The last & final thing was getting the vanity mirror installed considering I chose an LED light that required a electrical outlet to be added behind it I had to hire an electrician. This light is amazing had my electrician ordering the light while he was at my home! An amazing feature of this light is the anti fog feature, your guests or even you will LOVE this! Moving on I added some white linen hand towels for drying, towels underneath the vanity for use along with white hotel bath mats because I did say we wanted this space to feel luxurious like your stepping into your favorite hotel bathroom! Added some fresh Eucalyptus to seal the deal! What are your thoughts? I would love your feedback! =)
